This brand new album from Barbara Cook marks her twentieth anniversary with DRG and 18th album that we have recorded with her. From her first studio album Close as Pages in a Book in 1991, thru her Live in London, Live at Lincoln Center, Live at the Met and her many studio recordings leading up to The Essential Barbara Cook (a 6 cd and dvd box set) and lastly Rainbow Round My Shoulder last year. Our new release You Make Me Feel So Young was recorded June 17th live at Feinstein s at the Loews Regency Hotel in New York near the end of a record breaking two week solo engagement. The new show and album included 13 songs that Barbara had never sung before, along with some familiar favorites. Critics called the show brilliant, and flawless. Barbara was comfortable, assured, and, oh yeah, brilliant. She went new places, including scatting and surprising jazz phrasing. This was Barbara s first entry into jazz, ably assisted by Lee Musiker, her musical director and pianist. The band included Jay Leonhart on bass, Warren Osze on percussion and Steve Kenyon on woodwinds.Barbara Cook (83 years young) is nothing short of a miracle in music!
