his is mix of danzones and descargas, just great Cuban music. This is not a recording with new directions in music, just simply a celebration of the Cuban musical tradition. The recording starts with several danzones that serve as warm up exercises as the recording moves to the descargas. The flute solos in Obsesion are one of the highlights of the recording, in addition to Lucrecia's contribution in Dos Gardenias and the super-descarga in Yambu. Throughout the record Cachao introduces the different songs in a very warm and humble manner.
