Digitally remastered. The favorite film of countless children of the '70s, Harold and Maude is up there with the most adored of all cult-classic films. Now, for it's 50th anniversary, Cat Stevens' songs from the soundtrack have been combined with memorable bits of dialogue from the movie. Director Hal Ashby had to work hard to convince Stevens to exclusively narrate the film through his whimsical and poignant songs, but Stevens agreed. Original vinyl copies of this soundtrack trade for a bundle (it was pressed in very limited quantities when it finally came out in 2007 on Cameron Crowe's Vinyl Films label). Stevens' raw solo performances of songs from his albums join new ones he wrote for the film: "Don't Be Shy," "Tea for the Tillerman," "Miles from Nowhere," "I Think I See the Light," "On the Road to Find Out," "If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out" and more including previously unheard audio masters and dialogue. Production photos, liner notes, lyrics and dialogue transcription round out this highly anticipated release.
