Del Vikings - 1956 Audition Tapes (Audio CD)

As the title suggests, these are the original demo tapes recorded in a disc jockey's basement recording studio, by one of the great groups of the "doo wop" era. These demo's led to the Del Vikings being signed to the Fee Bee label (w/ national distribution on Dot Records). Upon the huge success of the group with "Come Go With Me" & "Whispering Bells", these demo's were issued on an LP in '57, on the Luniverse label, with instrumental overdubs added on. But on this CD, you get the original recordings only, without the overdubs. Almost acapella - just some light drumming & guitar behind the voices.
