| E.T. The Extra Terrestrial, one of the most popular movies ever released is finally coming to DVD. The double disc Ultimate Collector's Gift Set, available in widescreen only, contains more than ten hours of additional footage and extras including: the original theatrical version of the film, director Steven Spielberg's thoughts on why the film has endured for so may years and how E.T. changed his life. There is also an exclusive look at composer John Williams' work on the score of the film with rehearsal and live performance footage. In addition there is a track to allow you to listen to Williams conducting the score with a 100-piece orchestra at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles in 2002, and a full CD soundtrack of the original score. Also, the audio has been remastered in DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. For those who like behind the scenes information, there's a script from the original film, a feature on the Evolution of E.T. from concept to film, a reunion featurette with Spielberg and the principal cast and crewmembers, a 3-D exploration of our solar system, the E.T. archives will allow you to view hundreds of production photos, designs and original advertising. There are also several DVD-Rom features, including E.T. facts, a game to help E.T. find his way home, an E.T. read-along storybook, and more.
