Global Noize's 2013 album, Sly Reimagined: The Music of Sly and the Family Stone, is an all-star tribute to legendary '70s funk icon Sly Stone. Centered around keybaordist Jason Miles and turntablist DJ Logic, Global Noize make funky, jazz-oriented tracks that touch upon a variety of stylistic influences from fusion to dance-oriented club music to contemporary R&B and beyond. Featured here are such artists as vocalists Falu, Nona Hendrix, and Roberta Flack; trumpeter Ingrid Jensen; saxophonist Jay Rodriguez, and many others. This is funky, good-time music for both smooth jazz and funk fans alike.
