Idlewild - 100 Broken Windows [Enhanced](Audio CD 2001)

Idlewild are a bit more aggressive than the last generation's black-clad rockers -- as evidenced by gruff tunes like "Roseability" and "Little Discourage" -- but singer Roddy Woomble bares nary a whit of macho posturing in his thoughtful lyrics. Similarly, guitarist Rod Jones manifests a knack for lacing songs (like the keening "Listen to What You've Got") with sharp, angular lines that drive up the emo level without dropping off the IQ chart.
