Even as Mest reaches out on its fourth album, Photographs, to an ever-larger group of fans with an eclectic style that fearlessly embraces hip-hop drum kits, string arrangements and even piano the band remains a punk favorite. Produced by Goldfinger frontman John Feldmann (The Used, Mest's three earlier Maverick discs), Photographs also expands the group's lyrical palette by delving into such heavy topics as life and death, suicide and innocence lost among its chorddriven rock, hooky melodies and pogoinducing beats.
