Richie Sambora - Aftermath of the Lowdown (Audio CD - 2012)

Aftermath Of The Lowdown is the highly anticipated third solo album from Richie Sambora and overall it is a strong collection of songs that shows off his beautiful vocal style and his ability to deliver a song with passion. The album was produced by Richie along with Luke Ebbin who made Bon Jovi explode with "It's My Life" a decade ago. The band consists of session players including Rusty Anderson on guitar who played with Paul McCartney's band and Matt Rollings on keys who played with Lyle Lovett. The song styles are a mixture of hard rockers, radio friendly modern rock, and those passionate ballads that have become Richie's trademark. Highlights include the emotional ballad "Weathering The Storm" written with legend Bernie Taupin, the amazing chorus vocals of "I'll Always Walk Beside You", the best song on the album "Seven Years Gone" which has a mind blowing chorus and also builds into an epic bridge section, the quality hard rocker "Learning To Fly With A Broken Wing", and the powerful emotional hit of "Every Road Leads To You". While it doesn't feel quite as unique and intense as Richie Sambora's previous two masterpiece solo albums, Aftermath Of The Lowdown is certainly a quality addition to an amazing body of work that delivers on the promise of emotional vocals that we have come to expect from the bluesman.
