Roanoke With Stormbringer, the band lays it all out on the line with one solitary dirge. And they take their time building the song up – for a little over thirty minutes, you’re treated to a vicious cycle of slower-than-slower and meaner-than-mean doom. And just when you think you’ve had enough of one of their bleak riffs and can’t possibly take it anymore, they switch it up and drag you further down their dark, miserable hole. If you’re feeling good about things, avoid this one. If you’re willing to embrace a slow decay of happiness, Roanoke’s the poison for you.
