It’s hard to say “they really sound like…” because they do have a sort of original favor to them. If you are a fan of 80’s metal / rock then this might be something that appeals to you. Not that glam stuff like Poison [sorry Sleestakk] or Faster Pussycat – but early Pantera, Anthrax, Bulletboys, Motley Crue’s first release and just a hint of Metallica [pre ego days]. To be brutally honest, this is some of the best rock / metal group in a long time.
Looking through the few websites about them, as well as the photos on the CD sleeve and in the jacket, you can kind of see that these guys are stuck in the later 80’s, “metal f*cking rules” era. You know what that era means– ripped jeans, leather jackets, smoking like a chimney, tattoos, long greasy hair [sorry, it is greasy], the ‘I am a guitar god’ snarl / lip curl and of course offensive lyrics. But beyond the first glance, there is a spark of talent buried deep beneath the music. While you might have to dig a little through a few of the tracks to find a groove you can relate to – there is something for every rock / metal fan on What’s In Your Mouth.
