Umphrey's Mcgee - Similar Skin (Audio CD - 6/10/2014)

This is an album that features some of the best Umphrey's McGee rock songs in their catalog. I was somewhat ambivalent towards their last release, Death By Stereo, but Similar Skin is a heavy hitting rock album with plenty of moments where the band's prog chops really shine. Where Death by Stereo was a mish-mash of many genres and styles, Similar Skin has a unifying aesthetic, evident in both the album art and music. I'd recommend it to anybody who likes classic rock (Led Zeppelin, Beatles, etc.), progressive rock (Yes, King Crimson, etc.) or early to mid-90s alternative rock (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, etc.)
