Wynton Marsalis, Mark O'Connor, Jane Monheit - In Full Swing

By now it’s pretty obvious that Mark O’Connor can play just about anything -- from classical to country, pop, and other assorted musical genres. The violinist's appearances on over 450 albums prove how versatile he is. It’s also obvious though that he harbors a soft spot for the Gypsy swing music made famous in the 1930s by violinist Stephane Grappelli and guitarist Django Reinhardt with their Hot Club of France ensemble. Leading a compact trio, featuring Frank Vignola on guitar and Jon Burr on bass, O’Connor also brings in two high-profile guests --trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and singer Jane Monheit -- to assist him in exploring music inspired by his heroes. Everyone rises to the occasion.
